Miami Heat

Podcast: How did Heat get to the Eastern Conference finals? And the value of Jimmy Butler

The Miami Heat is in the NBA’s final four.

The fifth-seeded Heat punched its ticket to the Eastern Conference finals when it clinched a 4-1 series win over the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. But Miami is still waiting to learn which team it will face in the East finals, with the second-round series between the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics headed to a Game 7.

In this week’s episode of the Heat Check podcast, David Wilson and Anthony Chiang, the Miami Herald’s Heat beat writer, are once again joined by Associated Press NBA writer Tim Reynolds.

How did the Heat eliminate Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks? Just how good has Jimmy Butler been in the postseason? And how does this conference finals appearance compare to others in franchise history?

Wilson, Chiang and Reynolds touched on every one of those questions and more. Then they closed the episode with some Miami Hurricanes football talk.

It was a fun one. Check it out.
