Brandon Knight had it all.

McDonald’s All-American? Check. Final Four Ring? Check. NBA All-Rookie First-Team? Check.

Then he decided to jump with DeAndre Jordan.

Tuesday marks the seven-year anniversary of one of the grimiest, rim-rattling jams of all time in the dunk heard ‘round the world.

The dunk sent NBA Twitter into a frenzy. From crime scene comparisons to Wikipedia page alterations, Knight’s poster had worldwide appeal. Jordan’s ensuing stank face only made the situation worse.

Not even Knight could quell the hysteria.

Seven years later and not much has changed. Not only is Knight’s name trending, the NBA world has rehashed some of the same embarrassing content.

By far one of the best reactions came from ESPN The Undefeated’s Marc Spears:

“I actually thought that Brandon Knight died,” Spears said, declaring this the dunk of the decade. “I really thought that DeAndre Jordan caught a body.”

Quotes like that are why you can’t just help but feel bad for Knight. This poster is as much a part of the Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest alum’s legacy as his Final Four appearance and eight-year NBA career. Imagine having to relive this moment for the rest of your life.

Looking back, 2013 just really wasn’t Knight’s year. Remember when Kyrie Irving had him touching the floor? Yeah, that was a little less than a month before the poster.

Knight’s NBA career might not be as revered as his time in college. But one thing’s for sure: he might have had one of the worst two-month stretches in NBA history.
