Inside Inter Miami: Analyzing team’s issues after shocking loss to Orlando City
Inter Miami can’t seem to figure out how to win at Nu Stadium.
It’s getting a little mind-boggling after three draws in its first three games, followed by a shocking 4-3 loss last week to struggling rival Orlando City.
Lionel Messi and his teammates built a 3-0 lead in the first half. Messi even recorded his first two assists of the 2026 season.
And still, Inter Miami incredibly fell apart, allowing four goals to its cellar-dwelling nemesis from Central Florida.
What is going wrong? Is the stadium cursed? Who’s to blame? We will break it all down with postgame interview clips from Ian Fray and Noah Allen, and discuss some drama after the game.
We also discuss some criticism in the media that young players such as Fray and Allen are often the ones who take questions about the team’s performance after games since most of the team’s stars are often not made available to the media.
We have an excerpt from interim coach Guillermo Hoyos’ response and abrupt exit during the team’s postgame press conference.
Up next is a road game at Toronto on Saturday at 1, another road game at Cincinnati next Wednesday and then, the next chance to win a home game is Sunday, May 17 against former Inter Miami coach Phil Neville and the Portland Timbers.
We also have a World Cup update on the Haitian team’s plans over the next month as they prepare for their nation’s first World Cup appearance in 52 years.
