Inter Miami

Inside Inter Miami: Nu Stadium a success. But the team? Still a work in progress

It was a journey of 13 years if you’re David Beckham or more than three decades if you’ve been dreaming of a true Miami-based soccer team.

This past Saturday, it finally came to fruition when Inter Miami made its long-awaited debut at Nu Stadium.

The new facility, which hosted a sold-out crowd of 26,700, drew generally positive reviews as the club hosted Austin in its first ever game there.

The team, though?

That’s a different story.

Inside Inter Miami’s latest episode discusses how the new stadium looked, felt and how the operational logistics played out during its premiere last Saturday with reactions from team owners David Beckham and Jorge Mas.

We also look at the highs and lows from the team’s 2-2 draw against Austin, in which Lionel Messi scored the first goal in team history at Nu Stadium, but left with another disappointing stalemate.

We have reactions from coach Javier Mascherano and defender Maxi Falcon following the match, and more.
