Inter Miami signs Tadeo Allende on permanent transfer through 2030 season
Inter Miami fans got the news they were hoping for on Monday morning. The club announced that Argentine attacker Tadeo Allende will return on a permanent transfer from Spanish LaLiga team Celta de Vigo.
Allende, who scored an MLS-record nine goals during the 2025 playoffs, will occupy an international roster slot and his contract will run through June 2030, with an option for an extension until June 2031. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. He made $1 million last season.
Allende, 26, initially signed with Miami on loan last year and was instrumental in helping the team win its first MLS Cup title.
He made 54 appearances across all competitions and scored 24 goals to finish as the second-highest scorer on the team behind Lionel Messi. He also contributed three assists.
“Tadeo was a key player for us, it was extraordinary what he did at the end of the year, so yes, he will be on our roster this season and will be returning to camp in the coming days,” Inter Miami managing owner Jorge Mas said as training camp opened on Saturday.
The Mina Clavero, Argentina, native began his career in the youth ranks of Atlético Central Córdoba prior to being promoted and making his professional debut for the club’s first team in 2021. Allende went on to make 24 appearances for Córdoba that year before initially transferring on loan to Godoy Cruz in 2022.
After a successful loan, Allende’s transfer to Godoy Cruz subsequently was made permanent. He played 80 matches across all competitions while contributing 15 goals and seven assists between 2022 and 2023 before the move overseas to Spain.
Allende signed for Celta de Vigo in January 2024. He made 13 appearances across all competitions for Celta in 2024, scoring three goals.
In other news, negotiations continue between Inter Miami and Mexican club Monterrey regarding Argentine-born forward German Berterame.
Mas confirmed that the team hopes to acquire Berteramo, who was born and raised in Argentina and plays for the Mexican national team. Inter Miami is reportedly willing to pay the release clause to get the 27-year-old. Media reports say that fee is valued at $15 million.
“First of all, German Berterame is a great player,” Mas said. “We had a chance to face him in the Concacaf Champions Cup the year before last. He is a great player, and we aspire to have a great roster. There is an offer from Inter Miami for German Berterame. We’ll see how that unfolds in the next 24 to 36 hours. I repeat that we aspire to have an extraordinary roster to give Masche [coach Javier Mascherano] the tools he needs, and [Berterame] is a quality player that deserves to be on our roster.”
Monterrey sporting director Jose Antonio Noreiga also confirmed the negotiations to reporters in Mexico.
“I can tell you and confirm that there has been an approach [from Inter Miami] and a proposal that is interesting to Berterame,” told reporters in Mexico.
“It interests German, and it could be interesting for us. If we decide that the offer is interesting and that German leaves, we will do everything possible and we are already working on it to replace him.”
Berterame joined the Monterrey Rayados in 2022 and scored 67 goals with 15 assists in 152 games across all competitions.
