Inter Miami

Inside Inter Miami: Messi clutch in Game 3, another AppleTV guest, Cincy preview

History didn’t repeat itself luckily for Inter Miami.

Lionel Messi and Tadeo Allende each scored a pair of goals to make sure there would not be a repeat of last year’s disappointing first-round exit from the MLS playoffs as Inter Miami hammered Nashville SC 4-0 in Game 3 last Saturday at Chase Stadium.

And they did so without suspended superstar Luis Suarez.

Next for Messi and Miami is a road test in the Eastern Conference semifinals on Nov. 23 against FC Cincinnati, a team it has not beaten nor scored against in two matches this season.

Cincy won a Game 3 of its own last week against the Columbus Crew to set up this matchup and their fans figure to make this a hostile environment for Miami.

On the latest episode of Inside Inter Miami, our hosts Michelle Kaufman and Andre Fernandez are joined by Apple TV analyst Jake Zivin to review Miami’s win and the road ahead.

We discuss both topics with reaction from Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano, Allende and Noah Allen, plus we tackle the lingering question of whether Luis Suarez should slide back into Miami’s starting lineup or not against Cincinnati.

We talk about the break from the MLS playoffs this week as seven Inter Miami players including Messi are on international duty during the FIFA window.

And Kaufman talks about her experience covering the American Business Forum last week at the Kaseya Center where Messi spoke in an interview, just a few hours after President Donald Trump and other dignitaries spoke on the same stage.
