And we celebrated with some mate, Messi…and McCarty!
That’s former MLS star turned Apple TV analyst Dax McCarty, who joined the show to talk about Lionel Messi, Inter Miami’s current series against Nashville SC, and his take on whether they can win the MLS Cup this year.
We go over Messi’s new contract details and McCarty gives his thoughts on that somewhat controversial shirt swap with Messi after Nashville lost to Inter Miami in the 2023 Leagues Cup final following a tense penalty kick shootout.
McCarty also gives his perspective on how difficult it is to call it a career and knowing when it’s truly time as we reflect on a year where many stars are doing just that including Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
Our co-host Michelle Kaufman also has some prize giveaways to commemorate our 100th episode and she explains how to win them.
We’ll then review Miami’s 3-1 victory over Nashville in Game 1, which saw one of the better performances by Inter Miami’s defense and the continued strong play of goalie Rocco Rios Novo. Plus, we look ahead to a potentially-decisive Game 2 this Saturday, plus a look at the MLS playoffs so far.
