Inside Inter Miami: Messi, Alba returning just in time for Orlando City rematch
The Florida Derby nears another potentially memorable and intense chapter.
Inter Miami is preparing…apparently with all hands on deck…to take on its fiercest MLS and state rival, Orlando City, in a Leagues Cup semifinal on Wednesday night.
And the intensity appears to be taking on a championship level as both Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba are very likely to make their returns to Miami’s lineup for the matchup.
We dive into the rivalry between these two, which has only intensified since Orlando has routed Miami twice this season in league matches, 3-0 and 4-1. We get reaction from Noah Allen about how deeply-rooted the rivalry between Miami and Orlando really is.
Inside Inter Miami’s latest episode also reviews Miami’s Leagues Cup quarterfinal win over Tigres, which was not without its own drama, including a red card to club coach Javier Mascherano at halftime.
We have lots of reaction from Mascherano on the situation that ensued, which had him watch the second half from the stands at Chase Stadium.
We also look at the draw with D.C. United where Mascherano made eight changes to the starting lineup.
And Sergio Busquets talks about his potential future with the team.
