Inter Miami

Inside Inter Miami: Discussing club’s highs and lows; can they win MLS title with Messi?

Inter Miami bounced back from its recent disappointing defeat against Vancouver in the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions Cup with a 4-1 win in MLS league play against the New York Red Bulls.

But is the victory the beginning of a turnaround or just a patch as the club deals with larger potential issues down the road?

The back-to-back losses against the Vancouver Whitecaps put in doubt for some whether Inter Miami - even with the great Lionel Messi - has enough to win the MLS Cup this season.

On the latest episode of Inside Inter Miami, our hosts dive into the issues the team is facing and if they can truly turn things around.

We discuss both the highs of last Saturday’s win and the lows of the Champions Cup exit with reaction from coach Javier Mascherano, who answered some tough questions about the identity of his team, whether his veterans still have enough in the tank to conquer the MLS contenders that await, and if stylistically this team can impose its will on the rest of the league’s best.

We’ll also look at Fafa Picault’s emergence as an impactful part of the team and the way Yannick Bright and Sergio Busquets continue to mesh in the midfield.

And finally, we look ahead to Saturday’s road clash with Minnesota, which is in second place behind Vancouver in the West.
