Inside Inter Miami: Pressure mounting for club, Messi following back-to-back defeats
The heat is on for Inter Miami following a pair of disappointing losses last week.
The club finds itself in an even worse predicament than it did in the previous round of the Concacaf Champions Cup as it returns home to play the Vancouver Whitecaps in the second leg of the semifinals on Wednesday night at Chase Stadium.
Inter Miami was outplayed in a 2-0 defeat at Vancouver last Thursday putting it in a position where the best case scenario to advance is scoring three goals and not allowing any against a side that leads the MLS in scoring.
Adding to Inter Miami’s woes, it rested the majority of its starters including Lionel Messi in a league game against FC Dallas…and then blew a 3-1 lead in the second half to drop that game 4-3 on Sunday.
The deflating loss dropped Miami to fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.
The latest episode of Inside Inter Miami discusses what went wrong in each contest and how does the club pick up the pieces from here.
We have reaction from coach Javier Mascherano and Maxi Falcon and have an injury update and news on roster moves.
