Inside Inter Miami: Messi rests, newcomers shine, Mascherano sees red, big games ahead

Another game, another win, more drama for Inter Miami.

In the latest episode of Inter Miami, we chat with special guest Chris Wittyngham of CBS Sports and Apple TV MLS Season Pass about the club’s decision to rest Lionel Messi and have him skip the road game at Houston Dynamo, the team’s impressive 4-1 victory without its Argentine captain, the performances of newcomers Telasco Segovia and Tadeo Allende and 38-year-old Luis “El Pistorlero” (The Gunslinger) Suarez, who proves he is still lethal.

We also share news about Noah Allen and hear from a fuming Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano, who did not mince words in protesting the controversial red card given to Ian Fray after the game.

Also, we look at the goalkeeper situation as Drake Callender continues to work his way back and 38-year-old Oscar Ustari continues to shine in a starting role. And we take a look ahead at the upcoming Concacaf Champions Cup games against Jamaican club Cavalier SC and MLS matchup against Charlotte.
