Josef Martinez might get another chance to play at DRV PNK Stadium this year.

The former Inter Miami forward, whose contract was not renewed for next season, is a member of the Venezuelan national team, which will play a friendly against Colombia at the Fort Lauderdale stadium on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.

The game between “La Vinotinto” (The Red Wine) of Venezuela and “Los Cafeteros” (The Coffee Brewers/Lovers) of Colombia is the first between the neighboring national teams in South Florida since 2018.

It will be the third time Colombia plays at DRV PNK Stadium, having beaten Honduras 2-1 in January 2022 and Paraguay 2-0 in November of 2022.

Both teams are in World Cup qualifying action on Thursday with Venezuela facing Ecuador and Colombia playing Peru. On Nov. 21, Venezuela plays Peru in a World Cup qualifier and Colombia plays Paraguay. Through four games of South American qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, Venezuela is in fourth place with seven points and Colombia is fifth with six points. The top six of the 10 teams will earn spots in the 2026 Cup, being co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

An access code and other information will be emailed to season ticket holders earlier that morning. General tickets will go on sale Nov. 17 at noon through TicketMaster.
