Harvey Neville, the 20-year-old son of Inter Miami coach Phil Neville, on Tuesday signed a contract with the first team through 2024 after spending the past year and a half on the club’s reserve Inter Miami II team.

The versatile fullback will provide depth at right and left back and the midfield. He received a U.S. Green Card last week, so he will not occupy an international roster spot. His contract includes options for 2025 and 2026.

He is the third player this season to be promoted from Inter Miami II, following the signings of 2021 MLS Draft pick Aimé Mabika and club academy product and Pembroke Pines native Noah Allen.

“Harvey has developed well over these last two seasons with Inter Miami CF II. We’re pleased with his progress as a young player in our system and feel his versatility will offer us cover in a number of areas,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.

Neville joined Inter Miami CF II last season and started 21 games. This year, playing primarily as a right back, Neville made 15 appearances and recorded two assists.

He has also spent time with the Inter Miami first team in preseason and in two international friendlies at DRV PNK Stadium. He scored a goal in the team’s 4-0 win over Club Universitario de Deportes.

Neville is a product of the Manchester United academy. He made 28 appearances across a number of youth levels for Manchester United, most recently in nine Premier League 2 matches and one EFL Trophy match during the 2020-21 season, tallying one goal and two assists. Prior to joining the Manchester United academy, he spent 2015-18 in the Valencia CF Academy system in Spain, where he learned to speak Spanish.

On the international stage, Neville, a dual Irish-English native, was called up to the U-19 Ireland team in 2019.
