Fort Lauderdale Strikers travel to Atlanta to face Silverbacks

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers will play their third game in seven days when they travel to Atlanta to face the Silverbacks on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The Strikers hold the fourth spot in the NASL combined standings, putting them in control of their own destiny in the race for The Championship, the league’s four-team postseason tournament.

The Strikers are coming off a 3-2 comeback win over the rival Tampa Bay Rowdies, and have a three-game win streak.

The Silverbacks have lost six consecutive games and haven’t scored in four straight matches, which cost head coach Jason Smith his job this week. Assistant coach Alejandro Pombo will coach the team’s final four matches.
