Titletown South Florida: State finals week 1 and recruiting chat with Charles Fishbein
The state football finals are about to begin.
And the early signing period is just a little over two weeks away.
So this week on Titletown South Florida we brought in an expert to preview both as we move toward the end of the 2022 high school football season.
Miami Herald Deputy Sports Editor Andre Fernandez sits down - virtually with at least one fancy backdrop - with Charles Fishbein of Elite Scouting Services to chat recruiting and state championships in our latest episode.
In this week’s show:
▪ Fernandez and Fishbein preview Chaminade’s upcoming Class 1M state championship game against Clearwater Central Catholic and breakdown what they think will happen in the three other state title games next week in Fort Lauderdale including the first-ever Miami-Dade vs. Broward matchups in a final.
▪ We look at some of the top undecided recruits in Dade and Broward like Miami Central’s Rueben Bain and American Heritage’s Damari Brown and Mark Fletcher and where they could end up.
▪ How many of these top recruits like Chaminade’s Edwin Joseph and Dillard’s Christopher Johnson will end up choosing the University of Miami and help the Hurricanes in their bid to bounce back from a tough first season under Mario Cristobal? We discuss.
▪ Andre goes over the highlights from Columbus, Chaminade and Central’s victories in the state semifinal round with highlights and makes his pick on whether or not the Lions will win their fifth state title in the past six years.
