Last week’s best Miami-Dade high school performances


The Champagnat Catholic boys’ basketball team won the Derrick Rose bracket of the Adidas Holiday Slam tournament with a 77-76 overtime win over Wellington to remain undefeated. Oswald Parker had 25 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

The Calusa Prep boys’ basketball team won the Dwight Howard bracket of the Adidas Holiday Slam tournament with a 51-42 win over Chaminade-Madonna.


Ogechi Anyagaligbo, Miami Country Day, girls’ basketball: Anyagaligbo combined for 19 points and 24 rebounds in wins over Long Beach (Calif.) Poly and Elizabethtown (Ky.) to help the Spartans reach the finals of the Naples Holiday Shootout.

Giolibeth Perez and Annie Osceola, Ferguson, girls’ basketball: Perez and Osceola each earned all-tournament honors to lead the Falcons to the runner-up of the Junior Orange Bowl Invitational.

Beatrice Mompremier, Miami High, girls’ basketball: Mompremier earned all-tournament honors at the Junior Orange Bowl Classic.

Jackson Mihm, Ransom, boys’ soccer: Mihm had three goals in a 6-1 win over Miami Country Day.

Ava Hanson, Miami Country Day, girls’ soccer: Hanson scored eight combined goals in wins over Carrollton and Martin County.
