Key victory for Killian over rival Palmetto
Quarterback Cariq Rackley went down early but Antwan Collier filled in just fine as Killian (5-3, 3-1) secured a spot in a potential three-team tiebreaker for two 16-8A playoff spots with a 25-12 victory over rival Palmetto (4-5, 1-3) at Tropical Park.
If South Dade beats Homestead on Friday, the Cougars and Bucs would square off with Southridge to decide who joins the postseason. Palmetto quarterback Hugh Lowson sustained an apparent neck injury late and was taken off the field on a backboard. Lowson passed all tests on the sideline.
TOP TWO
Collier: Threw two touchdowns.
Bentavious Thompson: Scored on the ground and a 94-yard catch.
THEY SAID IT
