Three big plays helped the the Delray American Heritage Stallions earn a 23-7 victory over the Westminster Christian Warriors in the Region 4-3A final Friday night at Curtis Park.
Heritage (10-1) advances to the state semifinal to face the winner of Clearwater Central Catholic and Cardinal Mooney Catholic.
“They made the big plays and we didn’t. They won the battle at the line of scrimmage and we didn't,"“said Westminster coach Sedrick Irvin. “That’s what happened and we fell short.”
Heritage scored on its second play of the game when Warren Robinson sprinted up the middle for an 81-yard touchdown.

Two more touchdowns where added in the second quarter on short runs by Trenard Davis. His scores were set up by a 44-yard run by Devin Singletary and a 35-yard catch by Christian Bingo.
The Westminster offense struggled in the first half and only gained 28 total yards. The Stallions lead 20-0 at halftime.
With 10:01 to play in the fourth quarter, Westminster’s Elbre Gaiter scored on a 20-yard touchdown run. The score gave the Warriors hope, but the offensive struggles continued on following possessions.
Gaiter led Westminster (10-2) with 39 yards on fr carries. Jordan Cronkrite had 36 yards on 12 carries.
Singletary led the Stallions with 122 rushing yards. Robinson had 111 yards on five carries.
