North Miami nips rival North Miami Beach 12-8

Rain didn’t dampen Derrick Jackson as he scored on a 65-yard run to help North Miami (2-5, 2-3) outlast the rival Chargers. The final two minutes featured interceptions, fumbles and a controversial call denying NMB a touchdown on the final play.

NMB (1-5, 0-3) was led by Vinshaun Cobham, who scored the Chargers’ lone touchdown in the first quarter.

Jackson: The Pioneers’ back ran for 155 of his 165 in the second half.

Kaywan Hanna: The Pioneers’ quarterback accounted for 134 yards and a touchdown.
