Coral Gables routs Coral Park 42-0 to stay unbeaten
Coral Gables shut out Coral Park 42-0 in a District 14-8A matchup. The mercy rule was enforced with about a minute left in the first half after a 50-yard punt return by Coral Gables’ Gilbert Frierson.
In the second half, Coral Park’s coaching staff asked for the quarters to be reduced to six minutes each. Coral Gables (6-0, 2-0) capped its scoring in the third quarter with a 28-yard punt return by Frierson. Coral Park (0-8, 0-3) was held to 18 total yards and had seven fumbles.

Voshon Waiters: Threw two touchdown passes (65 and 21 yards), and rushed for one from 33 yards out.
Frierson: Returned two punt returns for touchdowns, and had 78 total yards.
