Sunset swamps Mourning 52-0 to improve to 7-1
After a slow start, Sunset jumped out to a 38-0 lead by halftime in a District 16-7A matchup it won 52-0 against Mourning on Thursday night at Tropical Park.
Sunset’s defense limited the Sharks (1-6, 1-5) to just two first downs and 67 total yards on homecoming. It forced five turnovers, including two fumbles recovered for touchdowns by Jonathan Esquivel and Denzel Mena.
Since a season-opening loss to Palmetto, the Knights (7-1, 7-0) have won seven games in a row. They have shut out three opponents.

Tarik Peters: Ran twice for 53 yards and a touchdown. Caught two passes for 37 yards and another score.
Javier Zuniga: Led Sunset’s rushing attack with 15 carries for 125 yards and a touchdown.
