American tops Hialeah-Miami Lakes, 26-12, on strength of second half

Hialeah-Miami Lakes (3-3) took the lead in the second before American (4-2) tied the score before halftime then took the lead on a 10-yard run by Lytii Borders.

The American defense held HML to four first downs, had three sacks and only allowed 102 yards.

Steve Hollingsworth: Passed for 120 yards with two scores and also ran one in.

D'Angelo Eiland: Led HML with two interceptions.
