Varela shuts out Hialeah Gardens, 48-0

Varela (3-3) enjoyed its most decisive victory as its defense — led by safeties Teonni Tate and Pedro Felix — kept the Gladiators (2-4) off the board.

On offense, sophomore Shamar Munroe touched the ball just three times yet ended with 105 yards and three touchdowns.

TOP TWO

Munroe: Was a key contributor on both sides of the ball with numerous stops.

Adrian Garcia: Led Gardens with 29 yards.

THEY SAID IT

"This feels amazing. We're trying to get back on top."
