Westminster Christian beat Everglades Prep in 56-0 blowout

Senior Daren Jones ran for three touchdowns in the opening half to help give the host Warriors (5-1, 2-0 in District 8-3A) a 42-0 lead at halftime. Westminster Christian scored four touchdowns in the second quarter to blow the game wide open.

Westminster Christian sacked freshman quarterback Demetrius Burns seven times and forced Everglades Prep (2-3, 0-2) into four turnovers. Senior Elbre Gaiter IV returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown for the first score of the game, and freshman Jeremy Passmore recovered a fumble in the end zone in the second quarter for another Warriors defensive touchdown.

Daren Jones: Jones led the Warriors with 107 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

James Sutton: The senior linebacker recorded three sacks and was a constant presence in the Panthers’ backfield throughout the game.
