The Ferguson cross-country teams swept the Falcon Invitational titles this past weekend at Larry and Penny Thompson Park.


Javier Zuniga, Sunset, football: Zuniga had 21 carries for 240 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Knights to a 14-7 win over Reagan.

Draquan Jones, La Salle, football: Jones had 205 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries to lead the Royal Lions to a 21-19 win over King’s Academy.

Nikkia Benitez, Westminster Christian, girls’ volleyball: Benitez totaled 36 kills, 25 digs, and 41 points in five-game wins over Ransom and Carrollton.

Brittany Beckelheimer, Florida Christian, volleyball: Beckelheimer had 17 kills and three blocks to lead the Patriots to a win over Miami Country Day.

Carlin Berryhill, Coral Reef, boys’ cross-country: Berryhill ran a time of 15:53.90 to place a Dade-best fifth place at the Invitational Race of Champions.

Rahyah Andressohn, Mater Academy, girls’ cross-country: Andressohn won the Falcon Invitational with a time of 19:35.08.

Joon Kim, Ransom Everglades, boys’ golf: Kim shot a 36 in a win over Westminster Christian.

Alexa Rivas, Palmetto, girls’ golf: Rivas shot a 37 to lead the Panthers to a meet win over Coral Gables and Lourdes.

Charlie Forero, Killian, boys’ bowling: Forero rolled a high series of 781 to win the Youth Fair Invitational individual title.

Patricia Velasco, Braddock, girls’ bowling: Velasco rolled a high series of 520 to win the Youth Fair Invitational title.
