With a big game against Columbus looming next week and looking to get things rolling after an 0-2 start, Belen Jesuit posted its second consecutive shutout Thursday night as the Wolverines routed Ferguson at Tropical Park in a District 15-8A opener for both teams.
Led by Javier Hernandez (82 yards and 2 touchdowns) Giancarlo Pinto (81 yards and one score) Belen (2-2, 1-0) did what it always does best, run the football. The Wolverines jumped all over the Falcons (0-3, 0-1) early with three first quarter touchdowns and never looked back while racking up 301 yards on the ground.
Javier Hernandez: Only touched the ball four times but scored twice, one from 10 yards out and had a 71-yard run.

THEY SAID IT
"“We’re not where we want to be yet but we definitely are headed back in the right direction after the rough start. We did a good job tonight of getting an early lead and were able to control things from there.”
