Braddock withstands late rally from Sunset

The Bulldogs (2-7, 1-4) were able to withstand a late rally the Knights (2-7, 0-5) to earn their first District 15-8A victory at Tropical Park.

Down 27-20 With 1:44 to play, quarterback Ludavic Saintvil completed a 23-yard pass to set-up Sunset with first-and-goal on the Braddock 3-yard line. What followed was over 20 yards lost on a fumble, an incomplete pass and sacks on the final two downs. Tyrell Parrish led Braddock with 112 yards on four carries and two touchdowns. Parrish’s first score came on a 99-yard run off a reverse handoff out of the Bulldogs’ end zone.

Vladimir Santana came up big for the Bulldogs defense with 3 interceptions.

Saintvil led Sunset with 214 passing yards and three touchdown passes. He also rushed for 110 yards. Tarik Peters had five catches for 105 yards and two scores.
