Belen shuts out Gulliver 24-0

Belen ran its time-consuming Wing-T offense to perfection and its defense held a sloppy Gulliver offense to 116 total yards and a shutout as the Wolverines (1-2) took down the visiting Raiders (1-2) in a Friday matinee at de la Cruz Stadium.

Belen got the win it desperately coveted heading into district play.

TOP TWO

Joseph Garcia: Set the tone early with first Belen touchdown, then ran in the two-point conversion and later recovered a fumble on defense.

Tavish Rice: The kicker and Princeton commit connected on all three field-goal attempts.

THEY SAID IT

“We lost a couple of tough games the last two weeks. We really needed a win.”
