Killian scores on first and final possessions to top Coral Reef
Killian scored on its first and final possessions — just enough to squeeze out a 14-13 victory over Coral Reef Thursday night at Harris Field.
Juwan Horn picked up a fumble forced by Theodore Williams and returned it to the 7, setting up a 4-yard touchdown pass from Cariq Rackley to Jordan Dillard with a minute remaining. Antwan Collier scored the go-ahead two-point conversion for Killian (1-1).
Coral Reef (0-3) crossed midfield by converting on fourth down on its final drive, but a 59-yard field goal attempt in the final seconds came up short.
Joshua King, who finished with with 119 yards on 22 carries, scored the first touchdown for the Cougars and was over 100 yards in the first quarter. The Barracudas scored 13 points in the second quarter on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Gio Salazar to Jeremy Fernandez and a pair of Nico Jacquemin field goals..
