Late substitution behind center helps Miami Country Day top visiting Archbishop Curley

Junior quarterback Matt Kaye came in relief of starter Sam Cohen in the fourth quarter and tossed a 14-yard game-winning touchdown to Jay Charles to lift the host Spartans to a 12-7 victory over Archbishop Curley.

Miami Country Day (2-1) took the initial lead when Nate Griffiths scored from the 1 with 5:41 left in the opening quarter.

Curley (0-3) got its lone score at the end of the first half when quarterback Bryan Pierre scored from the 4.
