Sunset tramples Westland 48-0

The Knights (1-1) were just about able to score at will on the outmanned Wildcats (0-2) in Thursday’s District 16-7A opener for both teams.

Sunset opened to a 28-0 halftime lead before two more scores in the third prompted a running clock.

Javier Zuniga: The running back finished with 114 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown in only one half of work.

Michael Cox: The Sunset quarterback passed for 173 yards and four touchdowns — two to Julian Noriega.

“It feels good to get that first win, now we need to go from here.”
