Palmetto improves to 2-0 with 22-12 win over Coral Reef

Bulldozing blocks set up a lethal screen game as Palmetto ran its record to 2-0 by beating the Barracudas (0-2) at Harris Field.

John Pierce had the highlight of the first half with a 54-yard screen-and-scamper directed his way from Hugh Lowson.

Lowson: Completed 11-of-20 passes for 169 yards with an interception and two touchdowns.

Ivan Thomas: Finished with two catches for 51 yards — including a 45-yard first quarter score for the Panthers.

“We finished it out strong and hard. We had our little downfalls, but we are going to pick that up and practice on it.’’
