Ivan Smith, Jawon Hamilton lead South Dade in 40-24 win over Coral Reef

Ivan Smith scored three touchdowns and Jawon Hamilton added two more to pace the Buccaneers in their season opener against their former district foe at Harris Field.

Smith, a senior Columbus transfer, took his first touch with South Dade to the house for a 90-yard return on the opening kickoff as the Bucs spoiled Javier Valdes' coaching debut.

Hamilton: The FIU commit led South Dade with 128 yards and a pair of scores on 12 carries.

Jordon Donaldson: The Coral Reef sophomore rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
