Ransom Everglades’ golf teams appear to be primed to make a serious push for state championships this season.

The Raiders continued what’s been a stellar season so far for both their boys’ and girls’ teams this week by sweeping the prestigious Youth Fair Invitationals at Country Club of Miami.

Ransom’s boys put together an impressive team score of 278 to finish 14 strokes ahead of perennial powerhouse Miami Columbus, which secured the runner-up trophy with a score of 292.

Meanwhile, the Raiders’ girls’ team also broke 300 after finishing with a score of 294. Ransom finished 11 shots ahead of Doral Academy, which secured runner-up honors with a score of 305.

On the boys’ side, Ransom took the top three individual spots as well, led by meet champion Cole Durham, a freshman who shot a 3-under par 67. His senior teammates, Navraj Suri (2-under 68) and Hugo Stenstrom (1-under 69) finished second and third respectively.

It was the fourth major tournament championship so far this season for the Ransom boys, who also won the Cardinal Newman Invitational, the Westminster Christian Invitational and the Wolverine Invitational.

In addition, eighth-grader Axel Monssoh, who shot a 74 at the Youth Fair meet, won the Wolverine Invitational after shooting 5-under-66.

On the girls’ side, Esha Nagalla continued to impress after shooting an even par 70 to win individual medalist honors. She finished one stroke ahead of Riviera Prep’s Danica Ortega and Carrollton’s Petra Compton, who each shot 1-over 71.

It was the first time Ransom swept both team titles and individual titles at the event.
