Columbus dominates South Miami

The Explorers dominated the Cobras to earn a fourth District 16-8A victory at Tropical Park. Quarterback Tucker Beirne led Columbus (7-1, 4-0) with 200 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also added a third touchdown on a 2-yard run.

Andres Fernandez rushed for two scores, and Jerron Rollins had three receptions for 83 yards and a score.

South Miami (2-5, 1-2) defensive back Michael Palau was injured in the third quarter and was immobilized on a stretcher. On the way to the ambulance, Palau raised a fist.
