When it was over, Palmer Trinity golfer Remi Bacardi held up four fingers.

The Falcons’ talented senior was celebrating a high school career sweep at one of Miami-Dade County’s most prestigious tournaments as Bacardi had just won the Youth Fair Invitational on Wednesday for the fourth consecutive year.

Bacardi, a University of Virginia commit, shot a 3-under 67 to edge the rest of the field by one stroke at the East Course of Country Club of Miami.

Miami Springs’ Gia Culler-Guerra and SLAM Academy’s Dariana Breto finished tied for second after each shot a 2-under 68.

Breto was one of three top 10 finishers for SLAM along with fifth-place finisher Ashley Balcom, who shot 70, and ninth-place finisher Sophia Coronel, who finished tied for ninth with a score of 75.

Their efforts were enough to lead the Titans to the team championship of the event after they collectively shot 290. SLAM finished comfortably ahead of team runners-up Carrollton and Doral Academy, who matched each other with a score of 312.

For Bacardi, next is setting her sights on one final run at winning a high school state championship over the next seven weeks. Bacardi finished a county-best 12th at last year’s Class 1A meet.

The golf postseason begins on Oct. 28 with districts and leads to the state championships from Nov. 12-20 at the Mission Resort and Club at Howey-in-the-Hills.
