Carrollton secures Youth Fair golf title, Palmer Trinity’s Bacardi wins individual crown

Palmer Trinity’s Remi Bacardi frequently delivers Impressive performances on the golf course.

This week, Bacardi was in usual form as she shot a strong 4-under 66 to secure the individual championship of the Youth Fair girls’ golf Invitational at Country Club of Miami.

Bacardi, the two-time Miami Herald Girls’ Golfer of the Year, finished two strokes ahead of runner-up Nicole Sardinha of Divine Savior, who shot a 2-under 68. Doral Academy’s Maria Quintero was the only other golfer to shoot under par with a 1-under 69.

Carrollton, however, continued its dominance on the team side.

The Cyclones edged Palmer Trinity by one shot to secure the Youth Fair Invitational championship on Wednesday at Country Club of Miami.

Petra Compton, the daughter of PGA Tour golfer and Miami Palmetto alum Erik Compton, led Carrollton and finished tied for seventh with Riviera Prep’s Danica Ortega after both shot a 3-over 73. Also for the Cyclones, Fernanda Carrion shot a 4-over 74.
