Prince Cowart fuels Homestead’s rout of Palmetto

Quarterback Prince Cowart’s three touchdown passes helped the Homestead Broncos (2-4, 0-2) roll past Palmetto (1-5, 1-1) in a 41-0 rout on Thursday night at Harris Field.

Two of Cowart’s touchdown passes went to Carl Robert-Geau, who finished the game with 81 yards on six receptions.

“We have a young scrappy team, and we are trying to get better,” Homestead coach Larry Coffey said. “Tonight we made plays and scored.”

Running back Carlton Delva led the Broncos with 56 yards on four carries and two touchdowns. Palmetto was led by running back Anthony Haynes who finished with 49 yards.

Next week Homestead will face Carol City in a District 16-6A match-up.
