Columbus pummels Miami Beach, 61-7

Host Columbus (5-1, 3-0) allowed a touchdown on the opening kickoff but then dominated the rest of the game for a 61-7 victory, holding Miami Beach (2-3, 0-2) to just one first down, which came in the final minute.

Quarterback Tucker Beirne tossed two touchdown passes, and running backs Andres Fernandez and Christopher Henderson ran for two scores each.

Columbus forced six turnovers, including five fumbles.

One of the fumbles was returned 10 yards for a touchdown by defensive back Anthony Rosenfeld.

In addition, J.R. Garrigo blocked a punt that was recovered in the end zone by Alejandro Levy.

The only bright spot for Miami Beach was Markel Anderson’s 93-yard kickoff return to open the game.
