Coral Gables gets first district win over South Miami

After two rain delays totaling more than 90 minutes, the Cavaliers (4-1, 1-1 District 16-8A) defeated the Cobras (2-3, 1-1) 28-7 at Curtis Park to earn their first district win.

No points were scored until late in the second quarter on a 4-yard touchdown catch by Kemore Gamble on a pass from Voshon Waiters.

Waiters led Coral Gables with 102 passing yards and three touchdown passes. Dae’Mhun Fuller had five receptions for 73 yards and two touchdowns.

The Cobras were led by Antoine Wright Jr., who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown.
