P.J. Coats, Tre’ven Worthen fuel South Dade football victory over Varela
South Dade beat Varela, 42-20, with the help of its dynamic backfield, which was led by quarterback P.J Coats and running back Tre’ven Worthen.
Coats threw two touchdown passes, ran for two more touchdowns and led the Bucs with 187 yards passing. He completed 11 passes in 14 attempts.
Coats’ backfield partner Worthen rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. He lead the Bucs rushing attack with eight first downs.
Valera’s best player was wideout Andrew Williams, who led the Vipers with five receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown.
