McKenzie Malone netted her 20th and 21st goals of the season, and Ashley Keveles recorded her 14th shutout as the Taravella girls’ soccer team (16-4-1) shocked District 12-5A favorite Douglas 2-0 in the district championship game.


Wolky Betancourt, Coral Springs, wrestling: Betancourt won the 182-pound weight division to lead the Colts to the Coral Springs Duals Championship.

Jacaira Allen and Courtney Parson, Dillard, girls’ basketball: Allen had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Parson had 13 points and eight rebounds to lead the Class 5A No.1 Panthers (20-1) over Class 3A No.1 Miami Country Day (20-2) 66-62 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Showcase.

Jordano Chea, Rodrigo Silva and Rodrigo DaSilva, boys’ soccer, Monarch: The trio accounted for six goals and five assists in victories over Cardinal Gibbons and St. Thomas Aquinas (3-1) and a 2-2 draw with American Heritage-Delray.

Prince Ali and Keyshawn Evans, Sagemont, boys’ basketball: Ali had a game-high 28 points and Evans scored nine of his 19 points in the second half as the Lions (19-3) rallied past Dillard 63-59 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Classic.

Ethan Elalouf, Western, boys’ soccer: Elalouf’s goal in the 10th minute held up for the Wildcats (15-2-2) in a 1-0 victory over Douglas.

Josh Borders, Coral Springs Charter, boys’ basketball: Borders scored 22 of his game-high 30 points in the second half to lead the Panthers (19-4) over Miami High 65-56 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Classic.

Zachary Scott, Westminster Academy, boys’ basketball: Scott had a team-high 22 points as the Lions survived a 101-94 shootout over Miami Pace at the Westminster Academy Hoops Challenge.

Mikiah Harrigan, Flanagan, girls’ basketball: Harrigan had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead the Falcons over Lake Worth 55-50 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Showcase

Danielle Antieau, West Broward, girls’ soccer: Antieau scored twice to lead the Bobcats (14-4-2) over Flanagan 2-0 in the District 14-5A championship game.

Mikael Dasilva, American Heritage, boys’ soccer: Dasilva scored two goals to lead the Patriots (12-2-3) over Barron Collier 3-1.
