Westminster Academy rallies for 20-18 win over Pompano Beach

In what was hyped as the Mega Bowl, Westminster Academy (6-4) rallied from a 14-0 deficit to earn a 20-18 victory over host Pompano Beach (8-2). Will Ferrell, star of the original Mega Bowl in Semi-Pro, was not in attendance.

The Tornadoes had a chance to take the lead twice with under 80 seconds left but were stopped on the 5, then later dropped a Hail Mary in the end zone as time expired.

TOP TWO

Cody Hatch: Sparked WA’s comeback with an interception.

Logan Good: Pompano’s quarterback threw for 145 yards and a score while also running in a touchdown.

THEY SAID IT

“[Hatch] almost had one last week. He tripped before the goal line. We rode him for an entire week.”

– WA coach Jake Sorg
