Marta Ciesla won the 200 freestyle in a junior national cut time of 1:49.53, the 50 free in a season-best 22.89 and led the winning 200- and 400-freestyle relays teams to win the Ann Marshall Award for Woodson Invitational outstanding female swimmer and lead the Pine Crest girls’ swim team to second place.

Khalil Herbert, American Heritage, football: Herbert rushed for a game-high 75 yards and caught a 34-yard scoring pass in the third quarter to help the Patriots (6-1) hold off upset-minded Cardinal Gibbons 21-14.

Brittany Gil, Dillard, girls’ cross-country: The first year cross-country running sensation clocked 18:30 to upset St. Thomas Aquinas’ three-time defending BCAA champion Alexa Cruz for the girls’ title.
Kenny Stanley, McArthur, football: Stanley threw three touchdown passes to lead the resurgent Mustangs (6-1) over Hollywood Hills 26-7.
Patrick Groters, University School, boys’ swimming: Groters won the 200 IM and 500 freestyle to win the Andy Coan Award at the Woodson Invitational.

Carly Cohen, Weston, girls’ volleyball: Cohen had five kills, 33 assists and five points to lead the Lions over rival American Heritage in four sets.
Alexander Martell, St. Thomas Aquinas, boys’ golf: Martell won medalist with honors with a 74 to help the Raiders win the District 21-3A title.
