The Pine Crest girls cross country team won the Invitational Race of Champions title behind a 3-4-12 finish by Tsion Yared (18:17), Alyssa Pujals (18:20) and Julia Montgomery (18:57).


Anthony Wells, Archbishop McCarthy, boys’ golf: Wells won medalist (73) to help the Mavericks edge Christopher Columbus 314-319.

Tyler Huntley, Hallandale, football: Huntley went 38 of 65 for a career-high 468 yards and four touchdowns as the Class 5A No. 1 Charters fell 36-28 to St. Thomas Aquinas, ranked No. 4 in MaxPreps Xcellent 25.

Kelly Gest, Cardinal Gibbons, girls’ swimming: Gest won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke to lead the Chiefs past Pompano Beach and Piper.

Valentina Haupt, Cypress Bay, girls’ golf: Haupt won medalist (35) to help the Lightning beat Cardinal Gibbons.

Rashawn Fraser, Piper, football: Fraser found Jaycob Williams with a five-yard touchdown pass with under two minutes left to help the Bengals rally past Nova 13-12.

Daniel Lobaton, Cooper City, boys’ swimming: Lobaton won the 200 frestyle and 100 butterfly to lead the Cowboys over Western.

A.J. Miller, Coral Springs Charter, football: Miller threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns to lead Coral Springs Charter past Calvary Christian 24-9 in a Southeastern Conference National Division game at Coral Glades High.

Mia Courtney Ledford, Pompano Beach, girls’ volleyball: Ledford had 20 points, 5 kills, 2 digs to lead the Tornadoes over Stranahan.

Brittany Gill, Dillard, girls’ cross country: Gill finished second in 18:15 at the Invitational Race of Champions race.

Taylor Lambert, North Broward Prep, girls’ volleyball: Lambert had 17 digs, 18 kills, five aces and three blocks to lead the Eagles over Pope John Paul II.
