Plantation gets crucial win vs. Cypress Bay 21-13
Plantation barely staved off Cypress Bay on the road to remain undefeated in district play.
The Colonels (4-1, 2-0) now hold the upper hand in 12-8A, arguably the most unforgiving district in the state. Cypress Bay fell to 1-3, 0-1.
After an awful first half, Plantation seized the lead for good early in the third quarter when wide receiver Jamari Sweet took a screen pass from midfield into the end zone.
Top Two
Archie Banton: Passed for 127 yards and two touchdowns for the Colonels.
Jake Fuhrman: Nailed two field goals and made a touchdown-saving tackle on a kickoff return for the Lightning.
They Said It
“There are no off weeks [in this district]. It's tough. We just try to keep these kids focused on one game at a time.”
