American Heritage turns back Northwestern 44-23
The Patriots survived a scare and pulled away in the fourth quarter. After Northwestern (1-2) took the lead on Chatarius Atwell’s 1-yard sneak in the third, Heritage found its answer in Khalil Herbert, who returned the ensuing kickoff 91 yards for score.
Heritage (2-1) overcame 110 yards in penalties while the Bulls missed numerous chances to capitalize including a pair of dropped passes near the Patriots’ end zone.
