Poll: Which Broward high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (March 17)
Broward County’s best continued to shine and delivered more early season highlights in spring sports last week.
This week, we continue a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Broward County high school sports.
Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, March 21, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:
▪ EJ Burns, Taravella, baseball: Burns threw a one-hitter, striking out five during a 1-0 win over NSU University School. Burns also went 1 for 2 with a double and two runs in a 7-4 win over Flanagan.
▪ Keniel Marrero, South Broward, baseball: Marrero went 4 for 4 and hit for the cycle, finishing with four RBI in a 11-2 win over Pompano Beach.
▪ Bruno Schafer, Flanagan, baseball: Schafer went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBI in a 11-9 win over Coral Springs.
▪ Kylee Reaves, South Plantation, softball: Reaves went 1 for 4 with a 3-run home run in a 9-8 win over St. Thomas Aquinas.
