This week, we continue a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Broward County high school sports.
Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Feb. 1, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:
▪ Alex Pierre-Louis, Coral Springs, boys’ basketball: Pierre-Louis earned tournament MVP honors and scored 17 points in the final against South Plantation as Coral Springs won its first BCAA Big 8 championship.
▪ Gianna Corbitt, Blanche Ely, girls’ basketball: Corbitt scored 17 points to key a 56-24 rout of rival St. Thomas Aquinas and earn tournament MVP honors as the Tigers won the BCAA Big 8 championship.
▪ Gabriel Villasana, Flanagan, boys’ soccer: Villasana scored both goals to lead the Falcons to a 2-1 win over Western in a District 14-7A semifinal.
▪ Dwight Gaines, NSU University School, boys’ basketball: Gaines scored a combined 75 points to lead the Sharks to wins over Chaminade, North Broward Prep and Martin County to win the Palm League championship.
