Catching up with former American Heritage star Lindy Duncan
That same Lindy Duncan which led the American Heritage girls’ golf team to two state championships has upped her musical game. A three-time ACC Player of the year at Duke, Duncan winds down from a pressure-packed professional tour by playing Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around Comes Around’’ on her grandmother’s piano or Metallica’s classic “Where I May Roam” on her guitar.
“I try to have some balance in my life,” Duncan said. “I enjoy the piano, the guitar, mostly everything hip hop and all types of rock ’n’ roll groups. It is always fun to play Metallica’s riff when you can get it.”
That musical down time helped Duncan cap an All-American career at Duke by leading the Blue Devils to a 2012-13 NCAA Championship runner-up finish. Duncan had two birdies and an eagle over her final three holes to secure an NCAA championship individual runner-up finish. Her next attempt to earn full exempt status on the LPGA Tour will come in the Q School Tour in December. At the Symetra Tour Championships in September, Duncan barely missed out on full exempt status by finishing 12fth on the Volvik Race for the Card money list.
